Class Types

A mindful, flowing practice that weaves together breath and movement. In our private or semi-private sessions, you’ll experience tailored Vinyasa flows—gentle and grounding or invigorating and empowering—designed to build strength, improve flexibility, calm the mind, and uplift your spirit.

Hatha Yoga is a classical and foundational style focused on slower, intentional movements, breathwork, and alignment. It emphasizes physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and gentle meditation to foster a balanced union of body and mind.
Immerse yourself in a grounding, alignment-centered practice in our private and semi-private sessions. In Hatha Yoga, we move with intention—holding postures mindfully, coordinating breath with each transition, and integrating subtle breathwork and meditation. Whether you’re beginning your journey or refining your form, experience enhanced strength, flexibility, posture, and mental clarity. Find balance and presence in a practice tailored to your pace—and to the peaceful rhythm of Maine’s coastline.

About Mel
Mel’s passion for movement developed at a young age and evolved through a range of athletic pursuits. After finishing her college volleyball career with a National Championship and All-American honors, she found herself with intense and unrelenting back pain. Originally, she came to yoga as a means to heal her body; but ended up just as inspired by the emotional practice as the physical one. For the first time, she was able to listen to my body in a way that nurtured it, rather than demanded something from it.
After ten years of practice in studios across the country, she completed her 200hr training with Kula Yoga in New York City in 2018. Since then, she’s continued her studies with Nikki Vilella (Kula/Vinyasa Flow), Nevine Michaan (Katonah Yoga), and Tom Meyers (Anatomy Trains). In 2023, she completed her 200hr Katonah Yoga certification.
Her teaching is informed by a multidimensional range of influences. She studied psychology for several years, which stoked her interest in the subtle body and how yogic practices can cultivate emotional resilience and inner connection. Her background in athletics runs parallel to a deep appreciation for art and the creative process, reflecting the balance of action and introspection that grounds her classes.
When she’s not teaching yoga, she enjoys hanging out with her partner, Paul, and daughter, Lou, grabbing a good cup of coffee, exploring estate sales, and soaking up all the Maine outdoors has to offer.
